Software Engineer

Resilience Corporation, innovator in the development of fault tolerant and high availability platforms for Linux applications, is looking for a mid-level software engineer to assist with development and sustaining engineering of high-availability Linux-based appliances. A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to learn quickly and complete tasks with moderate supervision in a fast-paced product development team environment. Prior experience with the Linux operating system is mandatory, as are C programming, Perl and shell scripting skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) are mandatory. Prior experience with high availability concepts is strongly desired.

Duties:
• Sustaining engineering using C, shell and Perl in the Linux environment
• Network and systems software development using C, shell and Perl
• Web-based graphical user interface development
• Integration of third-party software and hardware
• Unit-test development

Required Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• 4 yrs C programming in the Linux or Unix environment
• 4 yrs Shell and Perl scripting
• Advanced Linux system administration skills
• Self-motivated, able to complete tasks on schedule with minimal supervision
• Adept at problem solving, creative thinking

Desired Skills:
• Sockets and IPC programming experience
• Red Hat system administration experience
• Experience with network security software (firewall, IDS/IPS, etc) esp. Check Point Software Technologies products
• Experience with high availability software or system configurations
• Broad experience with open source   software packages, development and implementation
• Demonstrable maintainership or developer status in open source community
• Prior experience with Quality Assurance practices
